Selection Process
The selection process for recruitment includes the following stages:
Selection Trials β Candidates must undergo:

Physical Standards Test
Male Candidates
The Physical Standards Test (PST) for Direct Entry Havildar/ Naib Subedar (Men) is as follows:
Height:
- Western Himalayan [Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab Hill (Area South and West of the Inter State Border between Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and North East of Road Mukeria, Hoshiarpur, Garh Shankar and Ropar), Garhwal and Kumaon (Uttarakhand)] β 163 Cms
- Eastern Himalayan [Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam and Hill Region of West Bengal (Darjeeling Distt)] β 160 Cms
- Western Plains [Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh (Meerut and Agra Div)] β 170 Cms

The Physical Standards Test (PST) for Direct Entry Havildar/ Naib Subedar (Women) is as follows:
- Height: Minimum 162 Cms. 04 Cms height relaxation will be given to candidates belonging to North East Region (Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Assam), Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Ladakhis and Tribals of recognized tribal areas.
- Chest: Minimum 05 Cms expansion.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per Army medical standards.
Physical Fitness Test
The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for Direct Entry Havildar/ Naib Subedar (Men) will be conducted as follows:

Medical Examination
Candidates who successfully clear the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Skill Test must undergo a mandatory medical examination conducted by the Army Medical Team during the recruitment trials.
